Week of March 21

Here’s what SOMA’s up to:

March 27th: Easter Sunday – Worship Gathering and Fellowship Meal
We will be meeting at the regular time (11:15am) & place (the Berkshire) to share conversation, pray and sing together as we celebrate Easter Sunday. After the service, we will share in a light fellowship meal.

SOMA giving in February: $3,713
SOMA giving needed each month: $4,333

SOMA giving year-to-date: $6,733
Year to Date budgeted giving: $8,666
Year to Date Difference: -$1,933

We received 50+ name suggestions for the new space! Thanks for all of your creative ideas! We have narrowed those names down to the four below and would like your input to chose the final name. Remember that we are not renaming SOMA, but choosing the name for the building. Please vote for just one name and let us know your feedback in the next week. Each name below has a short explanation of the thought process behind it.

  1.           The Commons – representing a space where anyone is welcome and holds equal value
  2. The Well – representing a place of refreshment as well as remembering the story of Jesus with the woman at the well.
  3. The Sanctuary – representing a place of safety as well as noting the history of building as a church
  4. The Bridge – representing a place of connection as well as noting that Beaver Falls is a river town.

No matter which name is chosen, it will include the tagline “A Community Gathering Place” to further explain what the building is.

You can vote by commenting below or marking your visitor card at SOMA.

If you’ve got something to share with SOMA’s community by way of prayer request or a call for help from the body, let me know and I’ll put those here.

Robin Hill would like us to remember several people in prayer this week: her father, Eugene, for health and his heart to be touched by the Lord, and for Jackie, Amber, and her two daughters to come to know Christ.

Crider Family
Ethan and Darcie Crider are now proud parents to two beautiful baby boys – Huck Allen and Flint Robert. They were born on March 16th and everyone is doing great! The boys will need to be in the NICU for the next few weeks, so please continue to pray for them.
