If you’re interesting in donating or volunteering to help serve dinner, contact 724-846-3751 and ask for Rebecca.

Richwood Work Trip – Postponed

Originally set for December 1st-4th, the trip to Richwood has been postponed until early 2017. Stay tuned for more details!  The plan has been that a team from SOMA, Tiger Pause, & Geneva College will work alongside the men and women of Richwood, West Virginia as they rebuild their community following extreme flooding several months ago.  If you’re an adult interested in being a part of this team, email info@thesomagathering.org, or call Pastor Marc at 724.774.6398, ext 104.

Update from Dani Fitzgerald

To my family at The SOMA Gathering:

I hope you are all doing well!

I’m currently living in Thailand teaching English to kindergarten, first, second and third graders. The kids are beautiful, smart, witty, and full of life and energy. I’m blessed to be surrounded by them everyday.

I’m really enjoying my time in Thailand! But it definitely has its challenges. Since my first few days in Thailand the Lord quickly showed me how His goodness is everywhere. I’ve met some incredibly humble, kind, loving people since moving here. And none of whom are believers. Actually, most of them are atheists. I’ve had some pretty unique and challenging conversations with lots of different people, but the Lord’s consistent goodness is apparent in each conversation and interaction I have with all sorts of people.

I’m being challenged in ways I never thought I would be. God’s pretty cool.

I miss everyone at SOMA dearly. I really, really do. I miss that sort of warm community that wraps itself around you as you walk through SOMA’s doors. I never realized how much I took that for granted until moving away.

If you think of it, please pray for continued safety for me; for strength as I interact with people from a vastly different culture; and for peace as somedays living abroad isn’t as amazing as other days.

Also, pray for peace for the country of Thailand, as they earnestly mourn the death of their King, who was an incredibly compassionate, loving man.

I look forward to seeing you in a few months 🙂

Love,

Dani
