Week of April 9

WORSHIP GATHERING

April 15th: Worship Gathering, Communion, Children’s Environment, and Fellowship Meal
We will meet at our regular time of 11:15am at The Well (1401 6th Ave) to share conversation, pray, and sing together. This week Kathy Kinzer-Downs will be joining us to bring the Word. Children’s Environment will be available for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade and we will share in communion together.  After the worship gathering, we will share in a light fellowship meal.

4:30pm – Kids Movie Night

All elementary-aged kids are invited to come to The Well from 4:30-6:45pm on the third Sunday of each month.  We will show a kid-friendly movie and provide dinner. All kids must have an activity release form on file in order to stay for the event.  

Men’s Night – Mondays
Every Monday @ 6:30pm at The Well will be a Men’s Night for guys to meet, hang out, and encourage each other. All men are welcome!

“Learning from Our Past” Beaver Falls Lecture Series – third lecture: Wednesday, April 11th

Join the Beaver Falls CDC and City house for their annual three-part lecture series around the theme of “Learning from Our Past”.  Lectures will take place on Thursday, March 15th, Wednesday, March 28th, and Wednesday, April 11th. All lectures are free, open to the public, and will take place in the Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls at 7pm. 

Youth Dance Class & Women’s Movement Group – starting April 12

Spring session for both classes: April 12 – May 17
Youth class: Offered for ALL children and youth ages 5+ with drop in and ongoing registration. Pay as you go and pay what you are able options are available. . Class is held Thursdays, from 5:30-6:30pm at The Well. Cost is $25/session. Email crawford.julia@gmail.com to join in – or just show up!
Women’s Movement Group: Class is held Thursdays from 7-8pm at The Well. Pay what makes you happy ($5-10/class suggested)

Drop In Hours – Friday, April 13th
Join in our Friday open hours at The Well! Everyone is welcome to come use the space from 10am – 4pm. Free coffee, lunch, and wi-fi.

Recovery Community Group – Fridays
This community group is for anyone struggling in some kind of addiction and looking for Christian community support. It will meet on Fridays @ 12:30pm at The Well.

Neighborhoods of Hope Prayer Walk – Friday, April 14

Our next Neighborhoods of Hope prayer walk will take place on Saturday, April 14th. We will meet at The Well at 10am. Kids are welcome to join in as we pray for our neighborhood!

Geneva Cares in Community Conference – April 20

On Friday, April 20, 2018 Geneva will host a conference around the topics of responding to the opioid epidemic, crisis intervention, and caring for those who help others. There will be a variety of speakers from local agencies and Geneva College. Anyone is welcome to attend! The conference will be held from 9 am – 4 pm in the Benedum Room of Alexander’s Dining Hall on Geneva’s campus. Cost is $10 and includes lunch. Register and find more information at Geneva.edu/genevacares.

First Garden Day – April 21
It’s spring! And it’s time to start things back up at the community garden. We’ll be there on Saturday, April 21 from 9:00am – 12:00pm at 1st Ave between 15th & 16th Streets (along the bike path).

Congregational Meeting – April 29

We’ll meet for our first Congregational Meeting immediately after the worship gathering on April 29th. At this meeting, our mission partners will be voting on SOMA’s bylaws, on Pastor Marc’s terms of call, and electing the members of our first Nominating Team.
Discipleship at SOMA Survey
We are gathering feedback on SOMA’s discipleship methods and would love your input. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey.

Community Groups
Groups meet at various times to study scripture, be together, eat together, and serve together. Sign up for a group on the visitor card or by replying to this email.
