Week of September 26th
Here’s what SOMA’s up to:
WORSHIP GATHERING
October 2nd: Worship Gathering, Children’s Environment, and Fellowship Meal
We will meet at our regular time of 11:15am at The Well (1401 6th Ave) to share conversation, pray and sing together. We will continue our 4 week series on SOMA’s mission & values. This Sunday Mark Ongley will be joining us. Children’s Environment will be available for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. After the service, we’ll share in a light fellowship meal together.
10:00am – Disunity in Christ
Lisa Hosack will lead us through a five-week class uncovering the hidden forces that keep us apart. Lisa is chair of the sociology and social work department at Grove City College. We’ll be using the book Disunity in Christ by Dr. Christena Cleveland. Class starts Sunday, September 18th and will meet at 10am in the basement of our building.
5:00pm – A Life Worth Living
We’ve been invited to join our friends at First Baptist Church in town for this 9-week video series, (starting Sunday, September 18th) from 5-7pm. We’ll meet at their building (616 17th St in Beaver Falls), have a small dinner together, watch a video teaching on the book of Philippians, and have small group discussion. More details and the full schedule are attached to this email. Transportation is available for Geneva students.
7:10pm – College Student Weekly Gathering
Each Sunday we will have a time for college students to hang out together at The Well from 7:10 – 8:40pm (following A Life Worth Living). Each week will look different so join the CCO at The Well Facebook group to stay informed!

UPCOMING
Men’s Night – October 5th
On Wednesday, Oct 5th @ 6:30pm at The Well, Anthony Regan & Jerome Cousar will be hosting a Men’s Night for SOMA guys to meet, hang out, and encourage each other.
Kid’s Movie Night – starting in October
We’d like to start hosting movie nights for elementary school kids at The Well on Sunday evenings once per month. To pull that off, we’ll need some volunteers who are willing to hang out with the kids during the movie and help serve food. Clearances are required, which mostly can be obtained online for free, and help is available to walk through that process. We’re also asking for food donations, such as hot dogs and chips, to serve at each movie night. If you are willing to help out in either of these areas, please reply to this email or talk with Kristen Slebodnik.
SUGGESTED SPIRITUAL PRACTICES
Spiritual practice for this week based on SOMA’s value of being Christ-centered.
Find 5 minutes of focused quiet every day this week, and in the silence say the name ‘Jesus’. It can be out loud, a whisper, or in the quiet of your soul.
