Week of July 10

Here’s what SOMA’s up to:




July 16thFriends and Family Day at Second Baptist

This Sunday we will NOT be meeting at The Well for our regular time of worship.

Instead, we will be joining Second Baptist Church (2322 10th Ave, Beaver Falls) for their annual Friends & Family Day service at 10:00am followed by lunch & a carnival in the parking lot.

Help Needed – Second Baptist has asked us to help with face painting and running a book table at the carnival following the service. If you are available to help with either, email kristen.slebodnik@gmail.com 



5-Day Club – July 10 – 14

We will be hosting a 5-Day Club at The Well this Monday-Friday from 3:30-5pm. Run by the Child Evangelism Fellowship, this week will be filled with fun activities, crafts, & Bible lessons. All kids ages 5-12 are invited to come. No sign up needed, just show up!

Farmers’ Market – Monday, July 10th

Municipal Parking Lot, Corner of 8th Avenue & 12th Street. Every Monday from 3:30-6:30pm.

Men’s Night – Monday, July 10th

Every Monday @ 6:30pm at The Well will be a Men’s Night for guys to meet, hang out, and encourage each other. All men are welcome!

Garden Work Night – Wednesday, July 12th

Each Wednesday we will have our summer community garden work nights. Meet at the garden (located at 15th St & 1st Ave) from 5-7pm to help out!


Summer Youth Dance Class (4th week)- Thursday, July 13th

This dance class is for all kids and youth ages 5 and up! We will be exploring Modern Dance techniques while we cultivate our creativity and strengthen our choreographic voice! Taught by Julia Crawford Bacon, the class will be held at The Well from 5:30 – 6:30pm each Thursday from June 22 – August 3. Join in when you can! Cost is $5 per class. Women’s Movement Group – Thursday, July 13th

This summer we are going to keep moving and celebrating our stories. Don’t let fear keep you. Come dance. 7:00-8:00pm at The Well. Pay what makes you happy! ($5-$10/class suggested)

Drop In Hours – Friday, July 14th

Join in our Friday open hours at The Well! Anyone is welcome to come use the space. This week we will be open from 10am – 3pm (instead of 4pm) to make space for the 5 Day Club.



Kid’s Movie Night – July 23

All elementary-aged kids are invited to come to The Well from 4:15-6:45pm on Sunday, July 23. We will be showing a kid-friendly movie and providing dinner. All kids must have an activity release form on file in order to stay for the event.

Community Crime Watch Day – August 5

Beaver Falls’ annual Community Crime Watch Day is happening on Saturday, August 5th, from 6-9pm at Geneva College. The day is full of family-friendly activities and safety demonstrations. The event concludes with a fireworks display.            Help Needed: SOMA is in charge of kids games for this event. If you are able to help out with either planning or running games at the event, contact kristen.slebodnik@gmail.com 

Open Hours Volunteers Needed

We are looking for some more volunteer staff for Open Hours at The Well, especially with extended Friday hours and summer schedules. Contact Dave (daveslebodnik@gmail.com) if you are available to lend your time on Friday mornings/afternoons once a month.

Rides for Tyler and Maci

The Pattersons are looking for help with getting transportation to and from appointments. They live in New Brighton. If you are able to help out, get in touch with Dave Slebodnik (724-875-7286).
