Here’s what SOMA’s up to:

WORSHIP GATHERING

December 11th: Worship Gathering, Communion, and Potluck Lunch
We will meet at our regular time of 11:15am at The Well (1401 6th Ave) to share conversation, pray and sing together. We are in the third week of Advent and will be talking about God’s promise that nothing is wasted. After the service, we will share in our monthly potluck lunch so please bring a dish to share with 6-8 people if you are able!

7:10pm  – CCO @ The Well

Each Sunday we will have a time for college students to hang out together at The Well from 7:10 – 8:45pm (following A Life Worth Living). Each week will look different so join the CCO at The Well Facebook group to stay informed!

THIS WEEK

Morning Prayer at The Well  – Wednesday, December 7th

At 7:30am every Wednesday morning, we will be meeting for prayer and practicing community together. Stop by (1401 6th Ave, Beaver Falls) to join in!

Drop In Hours – Wednesday, December 7th
The Well will be open for anyone in the community to come enjoy the space, use the wifi, and have some coffee from 7:00am – 10:00am every Wednesday.

Men’s Night – Wednesday, December 7th

Every Wednesday @ 6:30pm at The Well will be a Men’s Night for SOMA guys to meet, hang out, and encourage each other.

Women’s Movement Group with Trades of Hope – Thursday, December 8th
This Thursday, the Women’s Movement Group is partnering with Trades of Hope to combine different forms of art, story, and movement. If you’d like to join in, please rsvp by December 7th. https://www.facebook.com/events/171760126627613/

6pm –  TOH display open & short presentation as our TOH Compassionate Entrepreneur shares about her recent trip to Haiti to work alongside of artisans.

7pm – The Women’s Movement Group will take place as usual while the TOH display is open

8:30pm – TOH display closes-up

Trades of Hope is a missional company rooted in compassion, promoting fair trade principles & cultivating sustainable business that is EMPOWERING artisans from around the globe out of poverty & human trafficking. Our products –jewelry, scarves, bags, home decor & more– are handmade by women from around the world who have been in extreme poverty, have been victims of forced labor or sex trafficking, or have illnesses that prevent them from working in a traditional setting. Trades of Hope partners with our artisans to provide them an opportunity to sell their fair trade products & establish sustainable businesses in 16 countries from around the world.

Drop In Hours – Friday, December 9th
Join in our Friday open hours at The Well! Anyone is welcome to come use the space from 10:00am – 1:00pm.

Advent Opportunities

We have a lot of opportunities to be involved in our community this season! The Advent Flyer has all the details, including information on worship gatherings and ways to give.

UPCOMING

Kid’s Movie Night – December 18

All elementary-aged kids are invited to come to The Well from 4:15-6:45pm on Sunday, December 18th! We will be showing a kid-friendly Christmas movie and providing dinner. All kids must have an activity release form on file in order to stay for the event.

Christmas Eve with Ashes to Life – December 24

We’ll be joining our friends at Ashes to Life Ministries again this year for a Christmas Eve gathering. We’ll meet at 3:00pm at their place: 831 4th Ave in Beaver Falls.

Christmas Day Dinner – December 25

For the past 23 years, the Beaver Falls Christian Assembly Church has hosted a community dinner on Christmas Day, serving as many as 1,200 people during the day! The dinner takes place from 11:30am-3:00pm at the Beaver Falls High School, and they’re looking for donations of clothing, toys, toiletries, cosmetics, or monetary gifts toward the event. If you’re interesting in donating or volunteering to help serve dinner, contact 724-846-3751 and ask for Rebecca.

Richwood Work Trip – Postponed 

Originally set for December 1st-4th, the trip to Richwood has been postponed until early 2017. Stay tuned for more details!  The plan has been that a team from SOMA, Tiger Pause, & Geneva College will work alongside the men and women of Richwood, West Virginia as they rebuild their community following extreme flooding several months ago.  If you’re an adult interested in being a part of this team, email info@thesomagathering.org, or call Pastor Marc at 724.774.6398, ext 104.

Pray for Mike Brown, who leaves this week to visit his girlfriend Dani Fitzgerald during her five month stay in Thailand.
