Week of February 13

Here’s what SOMA’s up to:

February 19th: Worship Gathering, Children’s Environment, and Fellowship Meal
We will meet at our regular time of 11:15am at The Well (1401 6th Ave) to share conversation, pray and sing together. We are continuing in our new series on the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5, looking at “blessed are those who mourn.” Children’s Environment will be available for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. After the service, we will share in a light fellowship meal.

10:00am – Christian Community Development class – Week 4

We are holding a 6-week Sunday morning class on the principles of Christian Community Development.  God has used CCD to shape SOMA’s culture for the last 5 years, and this is a chance to learn about it in more detail.  We’ll meet at 10am in the basement, no sign up needed.  Visit www.ccda.org to learn more about the Christian Community Development Association.
4:15pm – Kid‘s Movie Night

All elementary-aged kids are invited to come to The Well from 4:15-6:45pm on Sunday, February 19th! We will be showing a kid-friendly movie and providing dinner. All kids must have an activity release form on file in order to stay for the event.

Looking Ahead Document
On February 5, we talked about 2016 and SOMA’s year ahead. You can check out that information in the document attached to this email.
As you pay attention to the world this week, whenever you notice power being abused, or feel self-righteousness rise up inside yourself, recite the beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-10.

If you’ve got something to share with SOMA’s community by way of prayer request or a call for help from the body, let me know and I’ll put those here.

Regan Family
Anthony Regan’s mother passed away last week after a long struggle with illness. We want to continue to pray for his family, especially for Anthony’s father who had been caring for her. If you’d like to provide a meal for them, follow this link: https://mealtrain.com/e7y5r1
Baby Evelyn
Darian & Louis Kropf welcome baby girl Evelyn into the world on February 10th! Join them in praising God for his gifts and praying for healing for Darian from the c-section. If you’d like to provide a meal for them, follow this link: https://mealtrain.com/dmw14l
Eugene Smith
Robin Hill’s dad, Eugene, is getting his hip replaced and is afraid. Please pray for peace and a smooth procedure.
Fox, a friend of Robin’s, lost his wife a few days ago – please keep him in your prayers.
