Here’s what SOMA’s up to:

WORSHIP GATHERING

September 3rdWorship Gathering, Children’s Environment, & Fellowship Meal

We will meet at our regular time of 11:15am at The Well (1401 6th Ave) to share conversation, pray and sing together. Pastor Marc will be bringing us the message from Matthew 22 as we talk about work.  Children’s Environment will be available for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. After the service we will share in a meal together.

THIS WEEK

Farmers’ Market – Monday, August 28th

Municipal Parking Lot, Corner of 8th Avenue & 12th Street. Every Monday from 3:30-6:30pm.

Men’s Night – Monday, August 28th

Every Monday @ 6:30pm at The Well will be a Men’s Night for guys to meet, hang out, and encourage each other. All men are welcome!

Neighborhood Watch Meeting – Monday, August 28th

The Beaver Falls Neighborhood Watch will meet on Monday, August 28 at 7:00 pm at the Second Baptist Church (Fellowship Hall Annex), 2322 Tenth Ave., Beaver Falls.  The program is  “Keeping the BF Community Up to Date” presented by Daniel Camp, Beaver County Commissioner.

These monthly meetings last approximately one hour and provide residents with an opportunity to ask questions and register concerns.

Street Outreach for the Homeless in Beaver County – Tuesday, August 29th

Cornerstone, Beaver County Continuum of Care, and The Housing Authority are coordinating street outreach efforts on Tuesday, August 29th. They will be providing food, water, and necessities to homeless men, women, and children in Beaver County. They are still in need of volunteers and donations. Physical goods needed: Water, Non-perishable snacks, Sunblock, Lip Balm, Wash Cloths & Hand Towels, Deodorant, Rain Ponchos, First Aid Kits, Hand Wipes, Flip Flops of various sizes. Garden Work Night – Wednesday, August 30th

Each Wednesday we will have our summer community garden work nights. Meet at the garden (located at 15th St & 1st Ave) from 5-7pm to help out!

 

Women’s Movement Group – Thursday, August 31st

This fall we are going to keep dancing together as we expand our movement range and honor our stories! The early fall session will begin on August 24 and run until October 5. Class is held Thursdays from 7-8pm at The Well. Pay what makes you happy ($5-10 suggested)

Drop In Hours – Friday, September 1st

Join in our Friday open hours at The Well! Anyone is welcome to come use the space from 10am – 4pm.

 

UPCOMING

Youth Dance Class – September 7

This class is for ALL children and youth ages 5 and up! We will be expanding our movement range, learning meaningful dances, and nurturing our artistic voice! Pay as you go and pay what you are able options are available. Drop in and ongoing registration welcome. The early fall session will begin on September 7 and run until October 5. Class is held Thursdays, from 5:30-6:30pm at The Well. Cost is $25/session

6th Annual Golf Outing Benefit – September 15 

Registration goes from now until the morning of September 15th. Start of the event at 9am at the Beaver Valley Golf Club. Benefits the Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls. Call 724-846-4340 or see the registration form for more information.

Evangelism Training Seminar – September 16

First Baptist Church in Beaver Falls is offering Got Style: A Personality-Based Evangelism Training Seminar on Saturday, September 16th. It will he held from 9am-noon in the President’s Dining Room in Alexander Dining Hall at Geneva College. Dr. Jeff Johnson, who spoke at the Beaver Falls Pentecost Service on June 4th, will be back in town to lead the seminar.

GET INVOLVED

Rides for Tyler and Maci 

The Pattersons are looking for help with getting transportation to and from appointments. They recently moved to College Hill. We are looking to put together a team of people who are available to provide a ride once per month. If you are able, get in touch with Dave Slebodnik (724-875-7286).

Aliquippa Impact Positions
